RE: I'm New Here
Hi to both of you....
Kirsty, you said.. >>i have autism im not sure what form of autism but the paeditrician refused the diagnosis of aspergers syndrome One thing that I've noticed is that there is such a wide catchment of what comes under the title Autism/Aspergers Syndrome. I have a comparatively mild version (137 score since you ask) but friends have a son diagnosed with AS who is at a residential school for Aspergers. And he is very different from me. Whereas I am at the socially awkward end of the spectrum (can't look people in the eye, complete inability to smalltalk), this boy is happy to talk to anyone - he just doesn't pull any punches about what he thinks and then wonders why people get upset with him. Sometimes I just wonder whether we have the same 'disorder' at all. The mere fact there is something called an autistic spectrum tells me there is a range of issues that people have that the psychology profession just slaps the same label on. The same goes for "borderline personality disorder something to do with emotionaly unstablilty". What does that mean? I'm not saying you are not unhappy or don't fit in Kirsty, I just don't think your shrink has a proper diagnosis of what's wrong with you. |
