How to remember people
Well, I don't know, .....
See I just thought that everybody has difficulty with names and faces! I didn't think that it was anything unusual. So the other day I'm talking to a lady & I want to speak about another person, but I cannot remember this other persons name, then I remember it :) I said to the lady "Do you know how I did that?", & she wasn't sure what I was talking about. I said "There is a program called Coupling & when I think of the person, I think of Coupling & then the name Susan comes to mind, then I know the name!!!" I do this with all the people I need to remember, I tag them with different characterisations, like; He looks like a cat They're like Indiana Jones etc... Is this an Asperger's trick? |

RE: How to remember people
My theory is everyone does it subconsiously... maybe people with Aspergers just notice it.... I'm not sure but the brain must pick out features in someone to be able to recognise them. Surely?
Does anyone have the same problem remembering people, and if so... how do you work around it? Regards, Gareth Roberts Aspergernauts Powered by: IT Support Manchester |

RE: How to remember people
I try to assosciate their name or their face with something like say a lion or a dog and then link the name to that image.
It works for me. The Asperger Training Company http://www.theaspergertrainingcompany.co.uk Tel:01142683470 07914 410761 Supporting individuals and their families with asperger syndrome and raising awareness of Aspergers with employers |
